Clean Clothes Campaign

The Clean Clothes Campaign is dedicated to improving working conditions and supporting the empowerment of workers in the global garment and sportswear industries.

Since 1989, the CCC has worked to help ensure that the fundamental rights of workers are respected. We educate and mobilise consumers, lobby companies and governments, and offer direct solidarity support to workers as they fight for their rights and demand better working conditions.

The Clean Clothes Campaign is an alliance of organisations in 13 European countries. Members include trade unions and NGOs covering a broad spectrum of perspectives and interests, such as women’s rights, consumer advocacy and poverty reduction. We rely on a partner network of more than 200 organisations and unions in garment-producing countries to identify local problems and objectives, and to help us develop campaign strategies to support workers in achieving their goals. We cooperate extensively with similar labour rights campaigns in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Temple Grandin and Autism Spectrum

I'm stunned with the speech Temple Grandin @ TED , "It takes one to know one" , remarkable how she turned something that is seen as a handicap into a creative superpower , i totally understand every word that she said and i loved it.

"Einstein, Wolfgang Mozart, and Nikola Tesla have in common?
Temple Grandin, diagnosed with autism as a child, talks about how her mind works -- sharing her ability to "think in pictures," which helps her solve problems that neurotypical brains might miss. She makes the case that the world needs people on the autism spectrum: visual thinkers, pattern thinkers, verbal thinkers, and all kinds of smart geeky kids

Peace one Day

Yesterday someone from the Peace One Day contacted me and said they like the concept and the "STOP THIS" idea. Ive just finished a long email explaining the project and the massive consequences this could have

This was my reply to Patrick Thompson :

In his most simple concept is that bloggers or anyone that as a social network like myspace , facebook etc ... on 21 september writes an entry with the title STOP THIS , explain what the want to stop and very important what they would do to STOP THIS .

I have a music blog and 60.000 people last year read my sujestions/ideas , on this day i thing my opinion could have a impact on my readers , if we multiply for the millions of blogs around the planet the consequences could be massive.

Another important point in this matter is that even if someone gives a creative solution for one problem but isn't able to do it , maybe someone else in a different part of the world read it and maybe he says ... "i can do that"

If 10.000 bloggers want to stop the same and there are 1.000 different solution for one problem im very secure that were gonna have something really great.

Of course the possibilities go much beyond bloggers , i spoke with a lot of people and everybody loved the idea and ready to help with organizations where they have connections ,

Ive created a blog for "STOP THIS" and ill keep track of all the movements from this idea , also all the ideas and solutions that come on surface that day will be stored here as a testimonial and if in the near future anybody needs inspiration they will find it here.

Could you imagine only if also thousands of websites from other organization would join this cause , it would be massive .

I don't listen to politics or religious people , but the opinion from my favorite blogger , it matters , bloggers are creative people who like to share , this is perfect to ask them that their opinion is important and could have and huge impact if only a few that follow a blog can do something about a solution.

Also im very interested in helping in a few screenings of the documentary in Portugal and Holland , i truly believe that everybody in the planet should watch this

I think there are many other ramifications and other things that could be done for this cause , i specially that creative could be a answer to a lot of problems

If peace one day would join this idea and help spreading the word as a creative challenge and them pick the best ideas and try to put them in practice would be very rewarding for the people who writes them and also a motive of inspirations for the other ones , to make sure the idea don't fall on empty bags.

I want to contact many other organizations but i think that in this moment i need the first to back this up .

STOP THIS aproved by Bloggers United

Great news bloggers Unite have aproved STOP THIS

With a litle help from my friends

D my upstairs Flatmate was born in Aruba and i've challenge her to help us with contacts in Aruba , she gladly accept the idea.
I've asked Kuka a friend of mine from Portugal to make contact with Greenpeace.
Eve will also help with contacts in South Africa.

Ive created a Facebook page for STOP THIS , unfortunately Facebook didnt authorized the name i wanted , so i had to use mine.

STOP THIS facebook

We have to stop this

On September 21 Peace Day STOP THIS

I was thinking about doing something like this for a long time and got the final inspiration on the Documentary The Day After Peace

Its easy always to protest and make noise about the things we think are wrong , difficult is to find creative solutions.
Why was Copenhagen a failure ? Too much people with the same agenda , and no creative solutions , money will never be a solution for this and other problems.

What we need is a change in mentality , be less destructive and more constructive , approach the problems to find solutions in a simple away , independent from politics and religious affiliations .

The objective from this day is that all bloggers and users form other networks that wish to participate will post a STOP THIS event and give a creative solution for the problem , they can talk about a world or a simple neighborhood problem , we want creative and independent solutions and not only protest and criticism.

I hope to get this message and idea to the four corners of this planet , this blog will be the testimony that sometimes a great idea can have legs to walk against all odds.

Im gonna need a lot of help to get the this done , so eeveryone is more than welcome to help , you can send your ideas to stop.this [at] live dot nl

So far i've created a event on Bloggers united , contacted Causecast and bbc world have you say
